Another way to write Elana

It is sometimes slow getting mail in Guatemala. Elana just told us that using dearelder.com is a safe way to get mail to her. It is also very easy to do.

Elana's Christmas Card

We were able to talk to Elana on Christmas Day for about an hour. She is doing great! After 4 months in the mission field Elana became a trainer. She has been given some challenges and has grown a great deal from them. We had sent her a minature Christmas tree and lights with her gifts and she said her whole apartment was full of Christmas lights. She lives with 3 other missionaries now and really likes it. Having so much knowledge about the personality types (temperaments) has been very helpful.
On December 28th she wrote: The rest of Christmas passed by quickly. We had a conference for just the Hermana's (sister missionaries) which was interesting. I love it when president talks. I learn so much from him. It's also good to get to know all of the Hermana's. This change there are 6 more Latinas coming, which is surprising....there have never been that many Hermana's before.

From our Christmas letter about Elana:

"Elana left for a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in June. She is serving in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. She loves her mission and has grown tremendously. She will return home just before Christmas next December. She plans to finish her degree with a major in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. "

Elana went into the Missionary Training Center (MTC) June 3rd 2009 and actually arrived in Guatemala three weeks later to start her work!
